English Through History

How did Churchill inspire the British public during WWII? How did Alan Turing crack the German Enigma code?
Something more recent perhaps? What happened in the Vietnam war? What caused the fall of the Berlin Wall? Or maybe Ancient History is your thing?
History is a fascinating subject. So is the English language. Our teachers can combine the two, teaching language through history and culture, whether that is simply for fun or for academic purposes. Sounds Ideal, doesn’t it?
The classes follow the traditional Communicative Approach,
concentrating on the four main skills (reading, listening, writing, and speaking) as well as functional language, idioms and expressions, amongst other things. But the topics and contexts will all be history and culture focused, perhaps through videos, classic literature and more.
Talk to us today about what history floats your boat. Or, combine this with a General English programme.
